See How Kick It

I feel good on Friday mornings. I mean… early Friday mornings – when new music erupts hot and shining like lava. And I was waiting for See How splashing wide all over with Kick It, because after writing about him and 422ppm, I already knew this man cleans the senses with sound. His music feels organic, like somebody washed my cables, my speakers, and the brain – as long as I’ve still got some left.

See How and the road to Kick It

See How describes himself as a producer, creative director and environmentalist. Maybe that’s where that organic feel comes from. Whatever the reason, he has already carved his own strange little corner of electronic music, where atmosphere, ideas and human connection seem to matter as much as the beat itself. Before launching the See How project, he formed one half of the cult UK electronic duo Pariis Opera House, earning support from Lauren Laverne and Nemone.

Since 2023, his music has wandered beyond club machinery into cultural commentary. There’s mood, belief, climate anxiety, and all the other little monsters we feed daily with our thumbs.

Tracks like 422ppm and My Religion gave us the deeper end of the pool: carbon levels, belief systems, algorithms, actually all this modern panic wearing nice shoes. But today, Kick It leaves those shoes by the door, and kick the windows wide open.

Kick It And The Art Of Letting Go

Now, let’s kick It. Out 5 June via MMAAYYAA, Kick It runs at 124 BPM and clocks in at 2:54, which feels rude, frankly, because I wanted another minute with it. Every few seconds something new peeks out of the speakers: a voice, a chant, a little melodic wink, another reason to turn the volume up. Throughout it all, “you know who you are / and you’ve come this far” keeps returning like that one optimistic friend who refuses to let the group chat sink into misery.

The looping refrain gives the song its small, useful lesson. Keep going. Shake the loop. Get out of your screen-shaped coffin for a moment and remember your body has rhythm. And to be honest, somewhere between the second and third listen, I caught myself wondering how this song hasn’t already found its way onto a Defected compilation.

Amusing Ourselves To Death begins here

Kick It also announces See How’s debut album Amusing Ourselves To Death. Frankly, that title deserves a paragraph of its own. But let’s keep that secret for the time being. Amusing Ourselves To Death is a nine-track project arriving 18 September, exploring technology, distraction, climate anxiety and modern belief. Lovely stuff. Cannot wait to amuse myself to death.

Meanwhile, do yourself a favour and follow See How on Instagram, YouTube, Bandcamp, Deezer and Apple Music. I have a feeling this story is only getting started.
