MADFAST Bring Back 2 Life to the Drum & Bass Party

You know what I love about making music? I’m thinking about those moments when you’re just messing around with sounds and suddenly came across something that changes the whole thing. Happens to me quite often, actually. Well, that’s pretty much how MADFAST found the missing piece for Back 2 Life, their latest jump-up Drum & Bass release.

A Bit of Noise From Brisbane

The Australian duo wanted to follow up their previous track, Badman, with something properly punchy. So they got the percussion sorted, found the vocals they liked, and started putting things together.

Then came that synth. You know, the one that makes you stop whatever you’re doing and go, “Yep, that’s the bloody one!”

Ten Months? Blimey!

MADFAST wrote Back 2 Life in December 2025 and signed it with Sintezo Records the following January. Then came ten months of waiting!

As a producer myself, I reckon that’s enough time to wear out the replay button. Anyway the patience seems to be paying off, with the track attracting attention from music publications and gaining streams on Spotify and other platforms.

Plenty More Where That Came From

And the catalogue keeps growing. From the bass-heavy Rich Headlights and Badman to the melodic Everything You Promised and the garage-flavoured My Heart (On The Weekend), these Brisbane lads clearly enjoy playing around with different sounds.

They also run Third Level Records, their own independent label, giving other electronic producers a place to share their music. And speaking of which, they’ve already announced their next release, Set Me Free, arriving in under two weeks. This time they’re heading into Bass House territory, another style they’re pretty fond of.

Fancy catching up with MADFAST and their growing collection of musical mischief? Find the lads here. And perhaps warn the neighbours first!
