Warblade Bipolarum

Who would’ve thought I’d end up writing about a metal band from my own hometown? Well, here we are! Warblade, a young thrash and groove metal band from Focșani, Romania, happen to come from my hometown.

I’ve been following these lads since Warblade first came together, watching them grow, develop their sound and take their first steps into the music scene. And I thought it was about time to introduce them to our Groover City readers.

A Different Kind of War

Warblade. Quite a name, isn’t it? Sounds like somebody’s preparing for battle! To be honest, I’d rather imagine these five young musicians fighting a different kind of war. One against cultural laziness, indifference and that comfortable dolce far niente attitude. Perhaps the same battle any aspiring artist faces when trying to make something happen.

Formed in 2024, the band features Răzvan Toader (vocals/guitar), Luca Zlatan (lead guitar), David “Ghindi” Pană (drums), Petru Chendereș (bass) and Mathias Lădaru (keyboards). Five high-school students with plenty of energy and some serious musical ambitions.

They’re Just Getting Started

Their debut single, Regression, arrived in September 2026. This one was tackling anxiety, inner turmoil and the fear of losing control. Then came Bipolarum, where the boys went instrumental, playing around with different tempos and some pretty cool guitar solos. The boys explained the thinking behind their latest release:

“With Regression, we said what was on our minds. With Bipolarum, we wanted to let the instruments speak. The track has two sides, tension and release, just as the title suggests.”

They’ve been playing Bipolarum live for a while, and their goal in the studio was to capture that same energy. Both singles were entirely written and produced by the band themselves, including the arrangements and mastering. Not bad, gentlemen!

And they’ve been busy outside the studio, too. They’ve opened for Trooper and ProConsul, reached the 2026 Odyssea Band Clash final alongside other European bands, and performed at charity events, including one supporting a therapeutic centre for children with autism. Their music has even earned airplay on Romania’s Rock FM.

From the Studio to the Stage

The boys are also working on their first album, but before that, they’ve got a gig at Encore Club in Bucharest on 15 November. If you’re local, go get them. If not, well, Spotify doesn’t care where you live, does it? Big stages start with small steps, and Warblade are taking theirs.

There’s a long journey ahead, boys, but you’ve already given us a few good reasons to pay attention. Keep rocking. I’ll be watching! Meanwhile, go check out the lads on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, give them a follow and show them some love. A little support goes a long way, especially when you’re just getting started!
