MV AB96 Party

When Afrobeats Light Up London Nights

What’s happening in London rarely stays in London, and the Party by MV and AB96 proves it without trying too hard. Released on 25 December 2025, the track drags their Nigerian and Ghanaian roots all the way around my speakers – and honestly, my neighbours can file the appeal later.

Records with a good story at their core keep piling up in my favourite charts. It’s always been that way. I’ll get into how Party came together further down.

Brotherhood before the beat

MV and AB96 share more than studio time. Their long-running collaboration reads like genuine brotherhood, both in life and music. That connection pushes Party forward, giving it its mood and flow. The influence pool runs deep – Shatta Wale, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Asake – but the way they move along feels shaped by their own reality.

What comes through is the balance. The song moves like velvet, letting groove and personality do the talking without knocking things over. To me, collaborations are like shared kitchens – you either move around each other easily, or you knock things over. This one moves clean.

MV AB96 Party

From bedroom session to shared vision

The track came together in AB96s bedroom, which explains the intimacy baked into it. MV heard it and didn’t bite straight away. Then AB96 dropped his verse, and suddenly the kitchen made sense – no eggs on the floor, no flour on the decks.

That’s what I’m saying, I love that kind of origin story. No pressure, no expectations. Just some good vibes that wakes someone up – literally, by their own words – and changes the direction of the song.

MV AB96 Party

Satire as survival

The song carries a light satirical edge, shaped by a world heavy with politics, instability, and hunger. I love that – it’s my slice here too. Instead of lecturing, MV and AB96 offer release. Dance as commentary. Movement as response.

Party follows MV’s solo track Never Leave, a release that’s already picked up real traction. I’m curious to see where they take it next. You can follow the trail on Facebook, Instagram, and Spotify – it’s already there.
