Groover City to Broadcast ABGT700 Live From The Gorge

Above & Beyond are about to hit a fairly ridiculous number: 700 episodes of Group Therapy. And let’s face it, they were never going to treat number 700 like just another episode.

On Saturday, September 12, ABGT700 takes over The Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington State for the first half of a two-day Anjuna gathering — and this time, Groover City will be joining the broadcast. Yep. We’re going live from The Gorge.

Nine Hours, One Very Big Night

The Saturday celebration kicks off at 4:00 pm PDT, which means midnight in the UK, and runs through until 9:00 am on Sunday morning.

Above & Beyond lead the night with a special two-hour headline set, but they’re bringing quite a crew with them. Darren Tate and Grum will both perform live, alongside Ilan Bluestone, J Ribbon, Mat Zo, Nourey and Oliver Smith. In other words, going to bed early might not be the strongest plan.

The occasion marks 700 episodes of a show that has travelled a long way since its beginnings. Previous Group Therapy milestones have turned venues in Los Angeles, Sydney, Amsterdam, London, Hong Kong, Prague and plenty more into temporary homes for the Anjuna family. For number 700, they’re heading back into the open air.

25 Years at the Heart of Electronic Music

Above & Beyond – or simply Jono, Tony and Paavo to the millions who have followed them over the years – have spent the last 25 years right at the heart of electronic music. Along the way, they built the Anjuna family through Anjunabeats, Anjunadeep and Anjunachill. Their weekly radio show became a regular meeting point for dance music fans around the world.

And yes, there are a couple of GRAMMY™ nominations in there too, for Northern Soul with Richard Bedford and We’re All We Need with Zoë Johnston.

From The Gorge to Groover City

Groover City has been officially approved to carry the ABGT700 live broadcast, meaning UK listeners will be able to follow Saturday’s celebration directly through the station as it happens. The broadcast begins at 00:00 BST on Sunday, September 13, continuing through the night until 09:00.

And that’s only half the weekend. Sunday at The Gorge moves into Anjunadeep territory, with Above & Beyond‘s label family handing things over to the deeper side of the spectrum. But first, Saturday night belongs to Group Therapy. Nine hours. Episode 700. Live from The Gorge. We’ll keep the coffee nearby.
