Stitched With Strength – JOANovARC Light a Flame With Hey Sister

I’ve been thinking lately about all those brothers and sisters out there – millions, maybe billions – drifting apart, stopped talking, stopped reaching out. Nothing cuts deeper than silence between people who share the same blood. Then JOANovARC drop Hey Sister, and suddenly there’s a spark again. A track that feels like a patch of healing stitched over an old scar, shaking you by the shoulders to say: brothers and sisters, come on now – life’s too short to waste in distance.

Hey Sister – JOANovARC

You guys don’t even realise how much you need each other. Because Hey Sister tells the story of a woman trapped in a twisted, controlling relationship. The kind that steals your voice before you even realize it’s gone.

The song comes from the heart of a sibling who’s watching the storm from the outside, powerless but still in the middle. It’s a message soaked in love and hope, that no matter how far she drifts, someone’s still there – holding the light.

JOANovARC Hey Sister

Emma Hodgson’s voice draws you closer, like gravity made of sound. Shelley Walker shines in the second heartbeat, her guitar lines cutting through like clean truth. Keira Kenworthy holds that bass low and steady – what else could you ask from a backbone that carries both a song and a story?

Then Chloe Whitworth hits the drums, grounding everything in that fierce, protective rhythm. “For every cloud that hits you, there is a light that guides you,Emma sings. It feels like something I’ve heard on one of those long, heavy nights, where staying upright costs more than you have to give.

A decade of roaring reality

JOANovARC started in 2015 and have done their miles – from the sweat of Rockfield Studios with Gil Norton to the sunburnt stages of Europe, Japan, the Caribbean, and a damn fine night at Hollywood’s Viper Room. They’ve had Ride Of Your Life and Invisible Enemy – two albums that stitched together their story, layer by layer, before 2024’s Escape The Fire EP lit the match again.

That EP’s title track landed on Kerrang! Radio, On My Way burned through Planet Rock, and Say Sayonara quietly crossed a million streams, proving what the rest of us already knew: the sound of four women with instruments and intent is already a global frequency.

Now, Hey Sister turns their amps into empathy. It’s not a love song, not a revenge hymn. It’s the raw letter of one sister calling through the noise to another – “Wherever you are, I’ll find you like the north star.

Fireproof bonds and final truths

I played Hey Sister last night with the world turned down low, and it came through like a slap. Then I called my brother on the other side of the world, just to hear his voice.

JOANovARC bring this one for everyone – a reminder that music still knows how to look you in the eye. Hey Sister by JOANovARC is out now – a storm turned anthem, a letter turned lifeline. Follow the fire, not the smoke.
