It’s a genuine pleasure to dive into X-Ray Ted’s debut album, Moving On, which dropped on July 5, 2024. As a DJ and producer hailing from Bristol, UK, X-Ray Ted has crafted a unique niche blending Party Breaks, Hip Hop, Funk, and Disco. And trust me, this album is a testament to years of perfecting his craft.

X-Ray Ted’s Debut Album – an amazing vibe

Listening to Moving On is an immersive experience. This is not the regular background music. It’s the kind of album that hooks you from the opening guitar riff of his first track I Been Good. Then, the groove keeps you moving until the final beat of ‘Talkin’ ends the album. It reminded me of my late-night DJ sessions back in the early ’90s, where the music was all about creating an unforgettable vibe. X-Ray Ted added some Funk, Soul, Hip Hop, Beats, and Breaks into a cohesive collection, creating a sound that is both nostalgic and fresh. UK MCs Dr Syntax and Professor Elemental also dropped their talents into the mix, further enriching the album’s dynamic with their lyrical prowess.

The album kicks off with an infectious guitar riff that sets the tone for what’s to come. Each of the 12 tracks is dancefloor-focused, designed to make you move. The production quality is massive, showcasing a meticulous attention to detail that brings each instrument to life. X-Ray Ted skilfully reinterprets vintage sounds, making them feel both familiar and refreshingly new.

One of the standout aspects of Moving On is the impressive lineup of collaborators. X-Ray Ted collaborates with Hip Hop legends such as Afrika Baby Bam of Jungle Brothers and Fullee Love (AKA Soup) from Jurassic 5. Additionally, UK MCs Dr Syntax and Professor Elemental contribute their talents, further enriching the album’s dynamic with their lyrical prowess. They’ve added a dynamic layer of lyrical prowess to the album. Adding to the soulful depth are the vocals of Carys Abigail, whose voice brings irresistible hooks to the mix.

12 Tracks That Keeps you Moving On

Together, this team bridges the gap between retro ’60s vibes and contemporary beats, creating a sound that’s truly timeless. Has been a pleasure to listen this album. And I promise you’ll not be disappointed, this is a must-have and listen. The album, released by Bombstrikes Records, is a must-listen for anyone who appreciates high-quality, funk-infused music.
