Keeana Kee “Tik Tok”: The Ultimate Summer Anthem Groover City
What in life do we do with the ones we hate - sometimes more than they ever hated us? That question came to me as I played To The Ones, and the track answered in its own way. You name the pain, you raise a glass, and you finally let the truth speak without filters. I love that. NEODYM leans straight into that territory, and something in me recognised the moment. The Artist Who Turns Pressure Into Fire NEODYM comes […]
Standing Inside a Voice That Never Leaves I pressed play late in the day. You know, that hour when the mind drifts a bit and old thoughts crawl back in. I’m talking about I Am the Echo by Near Earth Objects (NEO), a track that met me right where my mind already drifted. Yeah, that familiar territory of chances we think about more than we admit. The band go straight into that space - the quiet unease of potential held too […]
Stepping Into the World of emmylou No need to introduce Emmylou Harris to anyone with a pulse for country history. Glass Cabin carried a spark from her world and placed it inside Emmylou, the 9th track of their new album emmylou, released on 26 September 2025. Their earlier records from 2021 and 2023 shaped the path, but this new one feels like a chapter written with steadier hands. I pressed play with the curiosity of someone standing at the edge […]
A soundtrack lifted from the concrete I’ve been making electronic music for a long time. I still remember my first clumsy attempts back in 1990–1991, with the rough gear I had back then. Wires buzzing, mixers groaning, and me trying to squeeze life out of machines that barely cooperated. Maybe that’s why, after so many years, I feel something special when a track with real weight and depth lands in my headphones. That’s exactly what happened with Mezmer Eyes by Hverheij. […]
The Weight Some People Learn to Hold I grew up around people bended by their own stories of life. Uncles, neighbours, the guy who fixed radios in the corner shop - all walking around with stories kept locked inside. Bended, but never kneeled. Today’s release under my radar - Thistroubledsoul by Highroad No. 28 - stirred that memory right back up. Andrew JC, the man behind the project, took every instrument into his own hands for this one, and the […]
We're anchored in the past - no matter how loudly we claim we’re built for the future. And when I scroll back through the romantic corners of my own life, I can still feel the old fires. The doubts, the small explosions that shaped me. All those pieces stay tucked in the ribs, written in our bones whether we ask for it or not. And the next release I want to bring to you - Written In Our Bones by […]
Please Come Home for Christmas - Country Heart in Winter Lights I already met John Smyths earlier this year with Now I’m Wiser, so hearing his own version of Please Come Home for Christmas feels a bit like running into an old friend in a crowded winter market. Same cowboy hat, same straight look in the eye, now wrapped in snow and fairy lights instead of bar-room neon. The song comes from the Eagles, yet John treats it like a personal […]
When a Song Walks In and Sits Beside You When I first played Until We Meet Again, something in me paused. We just lost Darcy, and the wound is still warm, so a song like this doesn’t slip by quietly. Stephanie Braganza stepped right into that space with a voice shaped by her own loss. And I know she wrote these lines from a place only real experience can shape. She wrote this as a tribute to her dog Pom-Pom. […]
The first punch: Don’t Stop Movin’ Almost end of the year. It’s like finishing a chapter and preparing for the next one. Then - bang. I stumble on XTC by Wagner the Band and suddenly I’m holding the album I’ll spin on repeat for days. Don’t Stop Movin’ opens the album and lays the foundation for everything that follows. Rainer Wagner shows up with that line - “oh you poor baby… you’re not in the mood” - and it slaps […]
