Keeana Kee “Tik Tok”: The Ultimate Summer Anthem Groover City
I pressed play late in the day. You know, that hour when the mind drifts a bit and old thoughts crawl back in. I’m talking about I Am the Echo by Near Earth Objects (NEO), a track that met me right where my mind already drifted. Yeah, that familiar territory of chances we think about more than we admit. The band go straight into that space – the quiet unease of potential held too long. The line “You say the seeds are in my hand, but I watched them dying in the sand” went straight to the spot I try to ignore on busy days. Maybe because I’ve had days when I felt the same way.
The chorus opened like someone speaking plainly across a table: “I am the echo of what my life could be.” No drama, just a line cut clean. Their sound pulls everything into one place – raw guitar work, tight drums, vocals with presence, all moving with the pacing of a band that know exactly what they want to say.
I kept thinking about how many echoes we carry around through the years, and how a track like this brings them up without pushing.
NEO work from their own corner of Cumbria, four seasoned musicians shaping progressive rock with steady hands and real care. The band come together through Grant Huck on vocals, Toni Tkocz on guitars, bass, keys and production, Darren Snow on drums, and Rebecca Williams on vocals. I Am the Echo marks the first step toward their third studio album, set for 2026.
Their focus? Hours thrown into sound, story, and the craft itself. I finished the track and I’ll be the echo for a while. Do the same and follow NEO on their Facebook, Instagram, Spotify and X. Do your own echo.
