By default, many of us look back at old dreams like suspicious tourists in our own memory museum. If I remember my summer of ’95, I was buried deep inside radio studios back in my old town. I was hopelessly in love, chasing frequencies, cassette tapes, and impossible ideas. East Collectors grab that same emotional thread with Flashback, released on May 8. Funny thing – that childish mind still follows me around today.

East Collectors – A New Nordic Chapter

The project comes from Danish bassist, producer and songwriter Jimmy Østbygaard. A real musician with decades spent inside music production, live performance and film scoring. For this new chapter, he joins forces with Faroese vocalist Guðrun Sólja and Danish songwriter Chris Chordz. Perfect choice, really, because this clever collaboration feels cinematic and emotionally awake at the same time.

Guðrun Sólja brings warmth and emotional depth through her vocal performance. She pulled me straight into the heart of the song, which honestly felt great. Meanwhile, Chris Chordz adds his songwriting fingerprints after already building recognition inside Danish pop, including co-writing the 2025 Danish Eurovision entry Hallucination.

Flashback – Memory And Melody

Flashback brings together atmospheric production, lively vocals, and that clean melodic hook, all wrapped inside an absolutely gorgeous Nordic atmosphere. Meanwhile, the song moves naturally between nostalgia and hope. The lyrics circle around old dreams, identity, and emotions that still define us years later.
