Zedd has officially disclosed his forthcoming album, ‘Telos,’ marking his first full-length release in nearly a decade. Announcing the album on his social media platforms, he revealed that it will drop on August 30th.

Telos Means Purpose
Zedd derived the title ‘Telos’ from the ancient Greek word τέλος, meaning ‘end,’ ‘purpose,’ or ‘goal.’ The philosopher Aristotle prominently used the term, linking it to the concept of teleology. It’s about events and circumstances based on their purpose rather than their origins.
While it remains to be seen if Zedd will explore these themes within the album. He has previously described Telos as a significant evolution in his artistic journey. In August 2022, he referred to the album as “a new chapter” of his work. In a March interview this year, Zedd elaborated on this vision. The artist suggest that Telos would be a deeply reflective and nostalgic project.

“I miss the days when albums had meaning and offered a deeper experience,” Zedd shared with USA Today. “Nowadays, many albums lack a cohesive story. Having achieved more than I ever imagined in my career, I felt that if I were to make another album. Something deeply special and honest, providing fans with the meaningful experience I crave but rarely find today.“
