Keeana Kee “Tik Tok”: The Ultimate Summer Anthem Groover City
I keep thinking about that phone call. The one from an unknown number. The one you answer faster than dignity allows because maybe it is your mother calling from the other side of a mistake.
We all go wrong sometimes. Some people break plates. Other break hearts. Some end up behind bars. Life has that nasty little habit of testing love right where it hurts most, then watching how long you can cope with it. That is the bloodline running through Fallen, the new single from Miami-based singer-songwriter Micayla Shafran, released on May 19, 2026 through The Orchard of SONY Music Group.
Micayla wrote the song after her mother went to prison last year. And that’s the thing here – the whole track grabs that idea as its central pivot. When she sings, “still love you if you’re fallen, still answer when you’re callin’,” she pulls the family wound into the centre of the song and leaves it there, breathing. The line works because Micayla keeps the drama grounded in real life. Love after disappointment, love after shame, love after everyone else already passed judgement and went back home for dinner.
Recorded at Criteria Recording Studios in Miami, the same legendary place connected with names like The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Bee Gees, Eric Clapton and James Brown, “Fallen” gets shaped with a haunting touch by sound engineer Dave Poler. I think this song is a little masterpiece in a big world full of distractions. I kept replaying certain parts of it just because of those amazing chorus chords. And that’s not everything. The second chorus comes up with extra drums, and suddenly everything feels heavier.
Micayla Shafran comes with a full, strange, but brilliant life behind the mic: singer-songwriter, influencer, figure skater, environmental advocate, University of Miami graduate, and former National Anthem performer at only 12 years old. In June 2024, Micayla stepped onto the runway at the Miami Fashion Music Conference in Brickell, then got called back for the New York edition a few months later. Meanwhile, I still look nervous carrying two coffees through a crowded petrol station.
With Fallen, Micayla found beauty inside one of the hardest phone calls a daughter can receive. And yeah, my beloved friends – this is the sound of somebody choosing love, while the rest of the world keeps choosing judgement. Honestly, after hearing Fallen, her mother has every reason in the world to be proud of her.
