Tomorrowland Expands Immersive VR Experience to Madrid

Published:

Tomorrowland is set to expand its innovative VR-powered experience, “The Great Library of Tomorrow,” to Madrid, marking a significant extension of the attraction beyond its current location. Following its successful launch in Barcelona’s Plaça Catalunya in December 2023, which attracted over 40,000 visitors, this move reflects the attraction’s overwhelming popularity and the strategic expansion of Tomorrowland’s immersive experiences.

“The Great Library of Tomorrow” offers an immersive audio-visual journey through the symbolic language of the iconic EDM festival, highlighting its visionary art and elaborate stage productions. This multi-sensory exhibit allows visitors to delve into the festival’s rich storytelling and mythic narratives using advanced virtual reality technology.

This project is a collaboration between Tomorrowland and Xtended Reality Music Hub, which includes teams from Layers of Reality and Blanco y Negro Music. “Madrid, with its vibrant cultural and entertainment scene, represents the perfect city to host ‘The Great Library of Tomorrow,’ one of today’s premier immersive experiences,” commented Jordi Sellas, Artistic Director of Layers of Reality.

In addition to its venture into virtual reality, Tomorrowland is also preparing to celebrate its 20th anniversary this summer with its flagship festival in Belgium, which will occur over two weekends: July 19-21 and July 26-28.
