Keeana Kee “Tik Tok”: The Ultimate Summer Anthem Groover City
Humans use music in many ways. Some need it while washing dishes. Some need it after heartbreak. Some need it because life comes with too many passwords, bills, and some other emotional potholes. Above everything, music connects. One person presses play in Rome, another somewhere else on the planet suddenly feels understood for three minutes and forty seconds. Strange business, really.
And here we are again with Lipford, the Italian-American pop artist from Rome we already met through Miracle last year. This time he returns with The Music, his seventeenth release, and yes, the title goes straight for the big word on the tin.
Born in Rome in 1985, Lipford spent 17 years inside the alternative rock band MantraM as guitarist and composer. When the band ended in January 2019, another chapter started. He chose a path where pop, alternative rock, and singer-songwriter emotion could share the same table without pulling out the knives.
The Music brings Neverhush into the arrangement, a long-standing hard rock band from Rome with two albums behind them: Mai Silenzio and Senza regole. Neverhush are there for more than one reason, and because of that the chorus finds its feet again.
The production also comes with serious hands on deck. Francesco Grammatico recorded the track at Jungle Music Factory, while Matteo Marciano did the mixing and mastering. Rumour says they wrapped the final work at Sonic Dunes Studio in Abu Dhabi.
The lyric that hits the most comes in simple form: ‘from the music we learn to go on.’ Suddenly, the whole mess makes a bit more sense. Another strong moment appears in “You keep counting every hour that you waste / It’s a cage made of a moment.” If anyone knows how to turn regret into something physical there, his name is Lipford.
The song talks to a friend, yet it also talks to the mirror. Shame, wasted time, effort in vain, tears, future, survival – all thrown into a rock-pop track, following one simple mission: to make the whole thing feel human. By the end, “the music’s my life / my saviour” burns the bushes down. Dramatic? Sure. But that’s real life out there.
Sometimes things go sideways before breakfast even starts, and Lipford knows that. He’s out there on Facebook, Instagram, Spotify and YouTube. Go dig around. The man clearly still has things to say.
