Keeana Kee “Tik Tok”: The Ultimate Summer Anthem Groover City
Kito’s AI-Made Track: Grimes’ Voice Echoes in ‘Cold Touch’ – Australian-born, Los Angeles-based DJ and producer Kito recently used Grimes’ Elf.Tech software to craft a new demo titled Cold Touch. He replicated her voice for the track, which Grimes recognizes as her first official AI release. The demo was teased on Kito‘s various social media platforms last week. Grimes herself lauded it as a “masterpiece.” The demo sparked a surge of positive feedback from her fans and fellow artists, grabbing everyone’s attention.
The first official track on Grimes‘ AI artist profiles available for streaming on Mad Decent. The Canadian artist had previously taken to Twitter to inform fans that they would be free to use her voice for AI-generated music “without penalty.” She went on to assert that she would share any royalties equally with creators of AI music that mimics her voice.
Kito drew inspiration from the early 2000s dance music renaissance. As a result, he co-wrote Cold Touch with Fred Ball and Nina Nesbitt. Meanwhile, Grimes’ ethereal voice shines through, created by transforming Nesbitt’s original vocals using Elf.Tech. Sonically, the track blends hyper-pop and bubble gum bass, then layers sharp jungle breaks for a bold, futuristic sound.
Speaking about the track, Kito explained, “I wrote Cold Touch from the viewpoint of an AI attempting to comprehend love. At the same time, my peculiar and uneasy relationship with using AI for creative purposes has become increasingly blurred. In fact, the actual extent of AI involvement often remains unclear. That’s why this is something I continue to navigate and understand in real time.”
