Keeana Kee “Tik Tok”: The Ultimate Summer Anthem Groover City
Marc Soucy, a man with music coursing through his veins since the toddler days when banging on pots and pans felt like a symphony. For Marc, music is less a passion and more of an unshakable obsession. A lifelong companion that he’s embraced, manipulated, and crafted into his singular artistic language. Now, in 2025, he’s back with Chill. This is his latest offering, that’s as much a vibe as it is a masterstroke.
If you’ve been following Marc’s journey (and if not, welcome to the club), you’d know that 2024 was a prolific year for him. His STIR series, a collection of hybrid electronic soundscapes, it’s wild. An immersive ride through the outer edges of instrumental storytelling. But Chill? This is where the groove settles in. Think funk-jazz-meets-electronic with a side of ambient introspection. It’s like taking a leisurely walk through a serene park while someone secretly injects adrenaline into your coffee.
The track is quintessentially Soucy. A kaleidoscope of eclectic textures and melodic finesse, built on a foundation of decades of musical experimentation. It’s a little jazzy, a little funky, and fully immersive. The calm undertone belies a powerful energy, an audio Rorschach test that shifts meaning depending on where your mood takes you.
Marc’s journey to Chill started in Lowell, Massachusetts. A city as modest as Marc is unstoppable. By 13, while other kids were mastering Pac-Man, Marc was already tickling the ivories in his first rock and R&B band. Nine years of piano lessons under his belt, he became a live performance powerhouse. Playing keyboards for a parade of bands while keeping one eye firmly on the future of music tech.
By the 1980s, Marc was riding the digital wave. MIDI, synthesizers, digital recording – this was his playground. Fast forward to the early 2000s, and Marc was already being heralded as “Boston’s premier MIDI producer.” He was shaping tracks at Boston’s Renaissance Recording Company, crafting sounds that turned heads and broke molds.
These days, Marc has traded the stage for the studio, where he dives headfirst into the tools of his trade. “The tech can be daunting,” he admits, “but it allows me to do whatever is in my mind.” And what’s in his mind is pure, hybrid brilliance. His music isn’t boxed into the “electronic” genre. Instead, it borrows liberally from folk, classical, jazz, and rock, creating something that feels familiar but remains utterly unique.

In Chill, you can hear echoes of Marc’s storied past. His love for funk, his jazz roots, his obsession with weaving unexpected elements into his work. But this track is also about where Marc is now: a place where every piano note is intentional, every sound meticulously crafted. It’s a testament to a career that’s evolved with the times while staying deeply personal.
As Marc says, “My music is meant to evoke emotions and construct stories, whether in your own imagination or through a music video.” And with Chill, those stories unfold effortlessly, drawing you into a rich tapestry of sound that demands replay after replay.
So, here’s to Marc Soucy: a man who’s been chasing the music in his soul since he could walk, and who continues to deliver sonic gems like Chill. A track that reminds us all why we fell in love with music in the first place.
