Chief Keef Unleashes “Almighty So 2” and a Homecoming Announcement

Published:

Chief Keef has finally released the long-awaited sequel to his 2013 hit mixtape, “Almighty So.” The new album, “Almighty So 2,” dropped on Friday, May 10, featuring a robust lineup of 16 tracks with notable contributions from artists like G Herbo, Lil Gnar, Tierra Whack, Quavo, and Sexyy Red.

The inclusion of comedian Michael Blackson, who was also part of the original “Almighty So,” adds a nostalgic touch to the sequel. Sexyy Red, who has recently become a frequent collaborator with Keef, delivers a standout verse on the track “Grape Trees.”

Their collaboration history includes notable tracks such as “Ghetto Princess” and a remix of “Bow Bow Bow (F My Baby Dad)” from late 2023, and “Damn Shorty” from Keef’s mixtape “Dirty Nachos” produced by Mike WiLL Made-It.

In a March interview with Billboard News backstage at Rolling Loud LA, Keef spoke about his connection with the Midwest rapper, highlighting their shared roots and mutual respect.

Keef is also gearing up for a significant homecoming performance, his first in Chicago in over a decade. He will be one of the headliners at this year’s Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash festival, an event that promises to be a monumental moment in Chicago’s music scene according to Berto Solorio, co-founder of the festival.

The festival, taking place from June 14-16 at SeatGeek Stadium, will also feature performances from Playboi Carti, Travis Scott and his Cactus Jack labelmates, including Sheck Wes and Don Toliver, as well as Big Sean, Kodak Black, Denzel Curry, Lil Yachty, JID, Mick Jenkins, Ski Mask the Slump God, and Waka Flocka Flame.
