Keeana Kee “Tik Tok”: The Ultimate Summer Anthem Groover City
I shout this at my speakers like I’ve just heard a door open inside the song. Who even thinks to steal Sylvia Rexach’s kind of yearning, pour it into Billie Holiday’s emotional smoke, and still come out sounding like their own?
I experiment in the studio too. Twist genres, bend voices, chasing that what if. But this move touched a rarer nerve. Illusion by Ivelisse Del Carmen plants itself and makes you recalibrate.
Ivelisse writes Illusion as an English-language bolero. You can hear the heritage in the harmony choices – romance with sharp edges, tenderness with character. Then, right when the song could grow louder, it pulls everything closer. The phrasing leans jazz, the way she sings keeps it human, and the whole thing feels like I’m watching through a door left half-open.
Paul Stanborough, the producer behind the track, protects that half-open door. He keeps the arrangement spare and deliberate, with air, silence, and that soft friction where desire meets caution.
We’ve written about Ivelisse Del Carmen before. We followed her through Mi Sangre Baila. We sat with Sin Filtro. Each time, she moved forward without losing the thread. Now, with Illusion, that thread feels stronger.
With hints of bossa nova and blues tint to the corners, the track glows. Ivelisse shows clear artistic growth on this release: fewer notes, deeper phrasing, cleaner emotional focus. I respect that kind of evolution. As producers, we all search for it. Few actually commit to it.
Illusion also fits into Del Carmen’s wider arc – recent singles, plus her Substack Letters in Melody, where she digs into process, identity, and the fragments that shape the work. She drops the track first through her own site and YouTube, then she rolls it out to major platforms on February 27th, 2026. So if you want to keep up with where this journey goes next, stay close to Ivelisse Del Carmen on Facebook, Instagram, Spotify, and TikTok.
